Bering Financial was founded by Patrick Smith. Patrick began his career in 1972 with Investors Diversified Services, where he was trained and educated in true, balanced financial planning. From there, he served as financial planner to 6,000 clients in Tarrant County with E.F. Hutton.
Patrick established Bering Financial in 1986 and he continues to serve as an independent advisor to clients across Texas and the surrounding states. Patrick has shared financial education as a featured guest on Believers in Business, heard on 100.7 fm, KWRD. In recent years, Patrick has conducted retirement courses for the 21st century at North Lake College. Patrick Smith is a Registered Representative holding Series 7 & 66 licenses, as well as licenses for Life & Health Insurance and Annuity instruments. On a personal note, Patrick enjoys time with his family, golf, fishing, and the outdoors. He has seven children, five grandchildren and has been married to his wife Carol for over 45 years.

Ian began his career in the financial service industry following a successful 12 year career in the fitness industry. During that time, Ian managed and operated his own training company and fitness studios. His desire to serve and help clients in their financial journey is built on his years in the fitness industry challenging, serving and helping clients make healthy and quality decisions for their lives.
His time spent at previous financial firms guided him to continually search and study for the best strategies to provide his clients in the ever-changing landscape of finance. As a registered rep with Bering Financial, Ian's goal is to continue the vision of the Smith family by providing exemplary service, time and dedication to clients while they navigate their financial journey. Ian holds the series 7 and 63 in the state of Texas and Oregon. He is also licensed for life, health and annuities in Texas and Oregon.
Ian enjoys living in Murphy, TX with his wife Heidi and his two children Liam and Maisy. Ian and his family are active members of Northplace church in Sachse, TX.
Daniel began working alongside his father, Patrick, in 1999 as a life insurance agent providing income protection for families across Dallas/Fort Worth. After serving as office manager for Bering from 2009-2012, he now continues to serve clients through strategy development for their investment, insurance and retirement planning needs.
Daniel is a Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Rep holding Series 7, 63 & 65 registrations, as well as licenses for Life & Health Insurance and Annuity instruments in Texas. As a North Texas native, Daniel enjoys living in Grapevine, TX with his wife Ashley. In his spare time, he enjoys good films, learning new things, walking/hiking outdoors, social activities with friends and family, and taking Daytrips around Texas. Daniel is also a student at Kenneth Copeland Bible College. He and his wife Ashley are active members of Eagle Mountain International Church.
Ashley joined the Bering family in 2012 as Operations Manager, overseeing all operational and administrative aspects of the business. Ashley's gift of hospitality allows her to create a warm, welcoming environment for every client and guest that Bering hosts. Ashley is a Registered Representative holding Series 7 & 63 registration.
Ashley is a native Texan born and raised in the Panhandle. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. A self-professed foodie, she loves cooking healthy, flavorful meals and trying out new restaurants. She also shares her love of fitness by leading group exercise as a Pilates instructor and is a Yellow Belt in Krav Maga.
Jade started helping Bering Financial with administration in 2019. After taking a break in 2020, Bering is thrilled to have her back on the team. As Patrick's other daughter-in-law, she is mom to son Jonah and daughter Eden. She and her husband Paden live in Forth Worth and enjoy hiking, photography, drinking coffee and leading praise and worship.
Tracy began her career in the financial services industry after spending 19 years as a global process leader for a leading packaging manufacturer. Having always excelled at finance, her passion is to help clients understand what they need to do NOW in order to enjoy their retirement later---free from worry! Widowed after her peace officer husband Wayne passed away in 2020, Tracy understands and can empathize with those trying to understand their own portfolio and make the best decisions for their future. In addition to assisting with client services, Tracy is also a licensed life insurance and annuities agent.
Tracy enjoys living in Flower Mound, close to her children and five grandchildren. She volunteers for the Metroplex COPS organization (Concerns of Police Survivors) helping families navigate the myriad of questions that come after the death of an officer in the line of duty, having been there herself. She is an active member of The Village Church in Flower Mound, TX.
